Return Policy – Continental USA Only – Please Read

All internet sales have a 48 hour approval period.  Once the instrument has arrived you must wait 24 hours to open it for acclimation, opening too soon can damage the finish. You then have another 24 hours as an approval period.  In the event of a return, we deduct our outbound shipping costs from your refund, and the buyer is responsible for full insured return shipping. We do NOT send shipping labels for returns.  A 1% – 3% restocking fee will apply to sales where payment processing fees are incurred by us, including credit cards and Paypal.  This fee is waived on cash/check sales.  We do not accept returns on instruments that have been modified or with those involving trades. We also reserve the right to reject or charge a cleanup fee should the instrument not be in the same condition as when it left. ie. scratches, damages, playwear. 

Most instruments are sent signature required.  If you aren’t able to receive with a signature we can have it held at a FedEx Store or Walgreens of your choice. You can request to have it held after it ships online with your tracking number.  If you refuse a package and it is returned to us, you will not be refunded the shipping cost and you will be still be responsible for the return shipping fees.  Express services are no longer guaranteed.

Sales Tax – USA

Shipments within the state of OH are required to pay 7% sales tax.  Shipments outside of Ohio are not required to pay sales tax.

 

Shipping Damage

In the rare case your instrument arrives damaged please contact us immediately.   We will pick that instrument up and send a replacement immediately.  If a replacement is not available, then we will issue a full refund.

Special Orders / Custom Instruments

Special order and custom instruments require a non-refundable deposit. Depending on the instrument and build time that may range from 20%-50% That deposit can be in the form of a cash payment or an instrument trade. The balance is due upon completion of the instrument and delivery to The Mandolin Store.   All sales are final on custom order in instruments but in some cases special order instruments may be exchanged at our discretion.

International Customers Please Read Below

We are no longer shipping to the EU.  We currently only shipping to the Canada and a few other countries.  We do not ship any instrument that comes in a gig bag outside the US – 48 states. Please note that there is no approval period on instruments that ship outside of the 48 Continental states. We are not responsible for customs or shipping delays on international shipments. The customer is responsible for all customs fees and taxes.

Warranty

In the event of a warranty problem, customers are responsible for both inbound and outbound shipping.   Shipping charges are not covered under any manufacturer’s warranties. Items shipped outside of the USA have no warranty. New instrument warranties are good to the original owner only.  Those warranties are as follows:   Weber, Collings, Gibson,  Ellis, Pava, Eastman, and private builders carry limited lifetime warranty to the original owner.  Northfield carries a five year limited warranty.  Kentucky, Trinity College, and Lafferty are 1 year.

Information We Collect

We collect aggregate information on visits made to our pages. This information helps us improve the content of our site. When you purchase a product on themandolinstore.com, we ask you for the following information: name, address, phone number, e-mail address, and credit card. This information is used to process your order and if necessary, to contact you for help when we are processing an order. All information we collect is stored in a secure database. Credit Card information is not stored and immediately erased when the transaction is submitted. The Mandolin Store  also collects e-mail addresses voluntarily to inform our customers that we received the order.

Disclosure of Information Policy

We do not share your contact information with any other companies or organizations.  You may receive periodic e-mails from The Mandolin Store to let you know of product specials or news of interest.   If you do not wish to receive such mailings, please let us know by unsubscribe at the bottom of the email.

For their protection, we ask that children do not submit information to us without the consent of a parent or guardian.
