Gibson 1995 “Bill Monroe” Limited Edition F-Style Mandolin with varnish finish. It is very good condition with original special hard case with numbered plaque. There is a little checking on the headstock as well as a rub on the back from a strap . Only 200 made & according to Gibson, less than half were made with varnish finish. The remaining were finished with lacquer. The inside label is signed by Bill Monroe indicating the number of the 200 made & the other label is signed by Larry Barnwell. These mandolins were made to replicate Bill’s famous 1923 Lloyd Loar F-5 mandolin & includes the “mother of pearl’ signed truss rod cover, the two signed inside labels, & the special oblong case with plaque with flower pot peg head inlay, side bound. A beautiful, rare, & excellent sounding instrument. #189 of 200
