Description
- Top: Select Adirondack spruce, carved with F-holes.
- Back, sides, and neck: Premium, high-figure quilted or flamed maple.
- Bracing: Parallel tone bar bracing.
- Finish: High-gloss alkyd resin varnish. This thinner, softer finish allows the mandolin to resonate more freely, resulting in a warmer and more responsive tone.
- Binding: Full triple-bound body, neck, and headstock in grained ivoroid with black/white purfling.
- Peghead overlay: Ebony with the distinctive “Torch and Wire” inlay and the Collings logo.
- Fingerboard and bridge: Ebony. The fingerboard has a 5 1/2″ to 11 5/8″ compound radius.
- Nut: 1 1/8-inch bone nut.
- Tailpiece: Collings custom handmade vintage-style tailpiece.
- Tuners: Nickel Waverly tuners with mother-of-pearl buttons.
