Description
This pick was created in collaboration with the mandolin virtuoso, Mike Marshall. Over the course of about 8 months, Apollo would send picks over to his home in Wuppertal, Germany. He’d use them for a few weeks then provide feedback on how they were working out. They tested different materials, slight variations in size, subtleties to the rounded edge etc.
Mandolins have a inherently bright voice and Mike likes his picks to darken things up a bit. This black material does that, but it also provides a very articulate sound with presence in the mids and high-end. ]]
Last but not least, the “MM” on the front of this pick was penned by esteemed calligraphy artist, John Stevens, of North Carolina.
